Friend has a set of these brand new in box.He's going to sell them to me for 50.00 if I want them.I have seen reviews that they are a good speaker for the money,but will they work in my 97 z28 with a monsoon system? I see they are 4ohm.

I don't know about working with your monsoon system but I have seen countless reviews on these being the best budget components available.

Found out in the FAQ that the ohms really don't matter. Since the new ones will have a higher sensitivity level than stockers.Looks like any 6.5 set will work.

You would be better off running those off an external amp.

Yeah,I'm seriuosly considering just adding a 4ch amp and getting rid of the Monsoon all together.Run fronts,rear sail panels,and a sub in the back and get rid of the hatch ones. Then I can do whatever.

I'm planning on just running a set of rsds in my doors off a 2 channel autotek amp, and If its not enough add another set. You could run 4 speakers off a 2 channel amp.
Right now I have pioneer speakers running off of the monsoon system with a pioneer head unit and its not that bad.. I'm just waiting to blow those to upgrade.
