    No sound outta sail speaker???

hey guys, I know I'm being lazy, but its hard not to be with such a valuable resource at my fingertips (you guys). I know I should start testing ohms, voltage, signal imput, blah blah blah.
Anyway, I would like your help in being lazy: my driver sail panel subwoofer is not making any sound.
I swapped subs from passenger and driver sides (passenger works fine) and still no sound. I connected an amp to the speaker wires (did this by splitting an RCA, exposing the copper, than splicing + and - speaker wires to them), and this is when weirdness ensued:
If I plug to amp this way, I get no sound. IF I only connect one of the speaker wires to exposed RCA copper, I get sound, but with terrible feedback(?)
Is the line to the sail panel grounding out?
Again, I know I'm being lazy, so thanx for any help.

My car didn't have sound comin' out of the driver side sail either when i bought it. I haven't tried swappin across like you tho... I hope it's not an electrical gremlin like yours... my solution is to be lazy (not fix it till the other sail goes out too)

I think with the monsoon the sail speakers are powered by the amp in front of the spare tire. You need to make sure that there is no loose connection from there to the speaker or cut wire.

I'll start there. Your probably right because on my home from school it sounded almost normal. Must be a short or something. Also, when I disconnected that speaker, I swear the other side started hitting a little harder.
