The monsoon unit runs off 2 ohm system, all the speakers are two ohm. It makes the speakers generally sound like crap because its being amped twice, once by the headunit and once by the stock amp.

you dont have to but like joshiedoon sead it gets ampet 2 times so it is going to go out faster. i had the same thing in my old max with the bose.

Depends how good you want it to sound and how loud you want it to be? I have my stock in my TA still but I have usually always replaced the complete stereo in every GM and ford I've owned. I gutted my Trailblazer and used an Eclipse DVD/Nav, Memphis 6.5" F+R door speakers, Memphios 12" subs, and a 5 channel Memphis Bell Amp to run it all. I plan to do the same thing in the TA but with a 10" sub and normal cd player. You can just replace the radio if but for a good stereo you can hear driving fast with the t tops off you need more.

I put all infinity reference series componet speakers in my car and the factory head unit is still in. I love the look of it plus the built in equalizer is awesome. I have cutouts on my car and can be doin 6 grand through the gears and not hear the car, because the speakers are so loud!

im surprised that no one made a jumper set to onto the monsoon amp so you unplug the amp put the jumper in place and this way you can use the head units amp to run the speakers... if they already did this ive never seen it, for now all i know the best way is to rerun all the speaker wire

It depends. If you still have good speakers why change it. If you want to get louder than it should be then go change the speakers.
