    Need New Monsoon Speakers

Looks like the stock speakers in my 99 SS 'Vert need replacing. Thought I'd replace all of them. What is the best for stock replacement, how much, and the best place to purchase them?
    Thanks in advance.

i think that i went with the polks. they sound okay but because of the location they are lacking in the bass response. infinity makes a good speaker too that is shallow mount.

    Cool

I just installed Infinity 6010cs speakers in both the front and rear seat.
In the front I installed the tweeters on the window posts angled right
at the windshield so at to ricochet off of it and cross to the seat on the
other side. Works like a charm.

I have not hooked up the back seat tweeters but that gets done tomorrow
when I install an Alpine MRP-F450 that is 100w rms x 4. I set the rear
crossover for those tweeters at the -3db setting so the rear highs will
    not be too loud.

BTW, I have an 150w Alpine amp that feeds a JL Audio 10" subwoofer in
the driver's side trunk. The amp and a 12 disk CD changer are both
mounted on the rear trunk wall so as to not lose trunk space and the
T tops can still be stored in their rack. The changer is a pickup truck
version so it could be mounted vertically.

I was really surprised at how well the stock Monsoon system worked
with just a change to the Infinity speakers. The difference was
spectacular. Hopefully, I will see another nice improvement by
adding the 400w amp. We'll see how it all works out.

Source for the Infinities was hookedontronics.com and the price was
$124 per pair but shipping was high at $18.

Hope that I got all your questions answered.

    Hi Big Ron,

I did not mount the tweeters in the door. As I said, I put the front tweeters
near the windshield low on the window posts, using a surface mount.
These would not show at all if the silver mount that came with the
speakers was spreyed black to match the tweeter and dash. I still may
pull mine back out and paint them black.

Maybe someone else here has done what you want and can help out.
