need help with speakers for monsoon system

Hello, I have a '98 Trans Am Ws6 with the monsoon sound system and I have very little knowledge on stereo systems. Both of my rear speakers (where the passengers sit, not the hatchback ones) are blown. I went to a stereo shop to get new ones and the guy there told me I was better off finding a set of used stock ones because of the built in amp in the stereo and getting something different could mess it up. If I can't find used stock ones (anyone got some to sell) what are my options for replacing them?

    Thanks,

Kee Audio sells complete packages to upgrade your speakers. Or you could just buy the ones you need.

I'm happy with the upgraded standard package that I have. The rest of my system is stock except the adapter that disables my cd changer and allows me to plug in my Atrix and play Pandora or iheart radio.

Would you truely classify them as an upgrade or more of a good solid replacement?

They're an upgrade. The materials are better quality and they sound much better than factory.

Package 1 or 2, but if you plan to upgrade you head unit and amp in the future 2 or 3.

I'm not sure what is up with CDT speakers but I'm not too impressed.. I ordered that package in Feb. I had both fronts start clacking real bad and one sail blew (middle sub) and got bad as well. CDT replaced both fronts and sails for free and now the fronts are clacking again. I'm not happy with them at all.. Stock sub btw,

When putting the replacement speakers from Kee in the front doors, do you secure the mini amps in the door or pull the wiring from the door and seccure them under the dash???

    What mini amps?

I just clipped the ends of the factory wiring off the speakers and crimped connectors on them.
