    Need Help Choosing Speakers.

Do you look for total peak watts or rms watts? Whats the difference in the two? I see them that say 300W Peak or 70W RMS. Need 6.5" for the doors to go with the JL sub in the back.

look for rms peak is only for burps (3 second periods) and for mids and highs is totally useless

Sub I believe. The fronts and rears are blown so most of the sound now is being played through the sub. I just want a nice clear sound.

With the stock headunit you want to look at the min recommended power for the speakers is.
Do you have a price range?

RMS. If the min RMS is too high they wont sound as good or be as loud with the stock hu. I have polks in 2 cars and am happy with them. Crutchfield and circuit city usually has a deal buy one set get one half off.

What you want to look for is the Sensitivity level (higher is better), not the minimum rms .
But don't let the sensitivity level be your only reason for choosing your main speakers.

it seemed to already been answered that peak is only for a short burst of sudden loudness (usually if your listening to club or tso ect. are examples that usually contain bursts) thier are other things to look at also like bd and sensitivity but putting that aside i would match my rms up with the amp and i would on a personal note if using stock head unit 45 - 50 rms seems to be good .. if powering by an amp i usually pair them up evenly.. also best thing to do is go to stereo stores and listen to thier speaker set up and see what you like
