Mystery Interior Light?

Just a few week ago I noticed i have an small interior type light on my 00 TA under the center of the dash in behind HVAC controls and stereo that stays on all the time. It also seems to be just hangin there, not attached to anything. I havent looked yet, but Im pretty sure my 98 bird dont have this light. What is this light? Is this where its suppose to be? Is it supposed to stay on all the time?

Is the climate control all lit up or does it seem like there is a dark spot?

all lit up . . . no spots missing in the entire dash lights

its not red in color . . just a a regular small interior light (not sure the size number)

so i looked in my bird last and i cant find this light anywhere. . . any more suggestions on what it is. im bout to cut the wires and tape em off. its dumb that it stays on all the time, but it may have a purpose and i just dont know what it is.

Is it possibly the glove box light? Is there a light for the cigarette lighter?

but i thought the ash tray "lighting" came from the shifter illumination

Not sure, but it doesnt hurt to check. If it stays on all the time and you don't know what it is for I would just pull the bulb and tape it up.

yeah thats what i was thinkin . . . just wierd cuz i didnt think any light stayed on all the time . . .thought everything just comes on with the parking lights/headlights

My 2000 WS6 has a light in the ash tray. Pretty sure it's always on with ignition.

this light is on with ignition off, even when the doors are shut . . . im gettin in there and figurin it out this w/e

THE MYSTERY IS SOLVED! It was the glove box light! The harness with the bulb and the switch that turns it off when the glove box is closed. Seems that the spot where this snaps into place is broke off inside my glove box. I have no idea why it was rerouted to hang in behind my console??
