My Fellow Optima Bat. Brothers...
Battery just went, PERFECT time to make the switch to the red top Optima. Threw one in, looks great, holds a strong charge. I've seen many people on here w/ em, tell me your likes/dislikes... It seems alil heavier than the stocker. I just like the idea of having a drycell.

Had optimas in my last two cars. No problems with it at all. Cheapest place I seen was Costco, I got mine for less than $100.00

I had one in my 97 Camaro and the car got totaled in the front end. The battery was squeezed inbetween the inner fender and the rad support. It took a big chunk outta the top.
It is now in my 98 Camaro and it is (I think) 4 years old!

My red top has been in three different vehicles in 4 years. I bought mine at work for about $110.00 with my employee discount(store manager for Advance Auto Parts). they normally go for $128.88 for a red top, and $158.88 for the yellow tops. I used to also have a blue top that was in the car for the stereo system that I had, and never had a battery isolator and had not trouble. I owned that battery for two years and then sold it to a friend who has been using for two race seasons with no trouble. The only time I have seen the optima batteries have problem is after hurricane Katrina, and we would have alot of comebacks. I think with the amount of batteries being sold, the quality went down some.

09 EclipseGT 75 Chevy 4x4- 2001 Trans-Am 13 F-XT
I have red tops in my T/A and in my Vette. They are the best that I've used so far. I've had no issues with them at all. I only drive my Vette a few times a year and the battery is always good.

08 Mustang GT/CS Blue- 2002 Trans Am WS6 traded
oh-and now that i'm thinking about it-it also didn't fit into the holder in my t/a. after it was installed, i noticed it was just sitting lose (dealership i bought it from swapped batteries for me). anyone else have issues? If i remember right, the holder may have been broken (or i broke it trying to make it fit...one or the other) and i 'temporarily' rigged it with a rubber tie-down. (I know...) not trying to hi-jack, but if its a problem the answer would help us both

I've got a red top going on three years old. Each of my cars has an Optima because they are the best battery on the market! If your car isn't a daily driver, as mine used to be, a battery tender may be required if your'e going to store it for more than a year. I have discharged 2 red tops (never yellow) to the point that they wouldn't hold a charge, so what's $40 to save your battery?

yellow is a deep-cycle. designed for higher current draw, especially with vehicle turned off. It won't drain as quickly as a conventional battery.

I have a red top for two years and moved it to the trunk. The best battery period.
