    Monsoon speaker replacement

I have an 01 Z28 with the monsoon head unit. Wondering if its possible to unplug the speakers because they have a plug that goes to the back of them cut the plug off and expose the 2 wires and connect them like you would normally do to other aftermarket speakers instead of buying the same crappy speakers. I want to keep my head unit just want to replace the speakers only. Is this possible?

I have tried many brands. Pionner, kendwood, alpine, kicker,
If I have to pick for one of those. I would go for kicker speaker. They are not cheap.
Or second option would be kenwood. They are cheap n good quality. Pioneer. They are not that good no more. Idk what happened.

Buy them on eBay. They are cheaper.
    Bout ohms. Idk to much
Just make sure u get the right size for the car

I called Crutchfield a few weeks ago as our passenger side rear seat speaker went out -- they said that there is nothing available to replace the factory dual voice coil speaker. There are several other threads on replacement speakers, but I do not recall what was recommended in them. I'd look but it's time to go make dinner!

If your reffering to the front door speakers having two sets of wires running to them then yes the do. Memphis audio has m-class speakers that fit and work beautifully in the stock locations. they have two hot and ground wire hookups on them just like the stockers do.

Good to know. I'll have to look them up. Nothing worse than a blown speaker to mess up an otherwise nice drive.
