    Monsoon Amp

I think my amp went bad in my 01SS. All of a sudden I lost base out of the rear sails. There is still something moving but the level has gone way down. Fronts and backs sound ok. Not sure if it is the amp or the head unit. Anyone else encounter this. If it is the amp, where can you buy them?

Check the speakers first. The best place to get one is used, ebay or classifieds on here is a good place.

Stupid question is the fader to the front? Also try wiggling the connections at the amp. It is in the rear just in front of the spare tire.

Fader is set correct. I'll check connections at the amp. Thanks for the location info.

    Monsoon amp

It is mounted on the wheel well just in front of the spare. It is mounted amp facing in so all you see is what looks like a black plate

Fader in my car only controls the door speakers or hatch speakers, doesn't affect the sail subs. Try it on your car to check. Not being a smartass, just helping others who may not know....

    Monsoon amp

Your correct. I had noticed that the fader only controls the front and hatch back speakers not the sail subs. I tried another amp today (ebay) and had no change. I thinking it is in the head unit. The wiring diagrams for this setup show a left and rigt rear input to the amp but seperate outputs for the subs and hatch speakers. The common thing is the input to the amp. I'm not changing the head unit right away. I'll keep an eye on ebay for awhile.
