    Keyless entry problem

For the past year, I've been having trouble with my keyless entry. i replaced the battery and it still rarely works. I also stole a keyless entry from a CTS at my work and tried to program it to the car and it wouldn't program for some reason. So i'm still in the same situation and don't know what to do. Sometimes I press the lock/unlock button once and it works immediately but most of the time I have to press it at least seven times b4 it works. sometimes it never works and i have to unlock the car with the key and then i need to put the car on run.. or start it within 5 seconds or the alarm will go off. does anyone have any advice for this situation? thanks

I'd try taking the remote apart and make sure the contacts are clean. Might just be the remote itself, or the replacement battery is weak. Some other GM remotes will work, but have to be the same PN/FCCID number.

get on EBAY, buy a keyless remote and take it to a dealership and have them program it for you...

But I don't even know if it's the keyless entry fob that's the problem. There's no way i'll ever go to a dealership for anything. the owner's manual tells u exactly how to program a new fob.
