Jensen VM9511TS, in 00' WS6?
one of my friends has a head unit/dvd player (Jensen VM9511TS http://reviews.cnet.com/in-dash-car-...-31836025.html), that he is selling for $100 ( he bought it for 400 new). I was wondering if this would fit in my 00' WS6, is it worth the 100 or should i just go with something else? I have steering wheel controls, is their an adaptor for this head unit, so i can still use the controls? will this be better than my stock unit, if so how much better? sorry if i these questions sound stupid, but i don't know much about sound systems.. thanks.

If you have the monsoon system, then no, its not even close. I guess i just hate Jensen so much because the idiot before me replaced the whole monsoon system with Jensen and its the absolute worst sounding thing i have ever heard. Ive replaced my headunit with an Alpine CDA-9885 and am going with either JL or Alpine Type-R component speakers in the door and sail panel. Its not that expensive and will sound much better than the monsoon setup.

besides, you're not going to find a dvd player for $100. and you can load up a dvd with mp3's and enjoy.

is the installation for a dvd player more expensive than lets say an alpine head unit (what are avg prices?)? i am looking more for sound quality out of my car, the dvd is just a bonus.

Alpine puts out pretty good RMS wattage for just the headunit. Pioneer makes good stuff too i have just never been a fan of the way they actually look. Mine was $250 but i would probably step up a model two even though i love mine and it works great for what i need it for.

The installation is pretty straight forward and easy. i'd save the cash you'd spend to have it installed, and do it yourself. there's plenty of write ups on this board to accomplish your goal.
