Ipod cable for stock monsoon. will it work?
i read the sticky for the i-phone and i-pod hook up. but what about the 98-99 model years. is there female RCA jacks on the back of the stereo that i can connect a cable to?

i have searched and searched. so i guess you guys have nothing either? i find it hard to believe that there is no solution for my Monsoon deck with aux on my 98. I'm not buying that FM crap. but thanks for looking at the thread anyways!

My solution was to replace the head unit with an aftermarket one. It's much better because I can control the ipod through the head unit.

Over on tech their is a guy that will take your stock h/u and solder a pigtail into your circuit board that will allow you to run an Ipod, I have the mod and it works great. Pm if you need more info.

I got an Alpine head unit with the Ipod cable that runs to my console. Everyone is amazed that I can go through my ipod from my dash and pick songs. Sounds great too. I also put Infinity kappa speakers in my doors.

BLK/BLK w/CGM Stripes- 2010 Camaro 2SS/M6
Did the Novak mod a while ago and it works pretty well. The only drawback is the fact that I need to run a separate charger apart from the aux jack, so lotsa wires! lol

When I had my 02 Grand Prix, i took a cassette player from a ~2000 malibu and used the connector to connect it to my stock head unit. When i wanted to use it to play my ipod I would just hit ''play'' (steering wheel controls) one more time to use the cassette player. I used the cassette to 3.5mm plug to connect my ipod. I wonder if it would work with our monsoon head units?

If anyone cares... I've got my old monsoon out of a 2000 for sale. I'm asking $75.
It's the stereo I used with my iSimple I did the write up on. (that might've been the sticky you saw)
But FYI, the isimple doesn't work with pre 98 stereos. It needs to be able to work with the cd changer port in the back. I don't think 98's had that option.

I have a 99 SS. Idk if I have a CD changer. I'm on deployment right now so I'll check when I get back. Where are they located in the hatch area?

The cd changers are in the back.
BUT, you don't need to have an actual changer in your car for it to work. The HU needs to have the ability to operate a cd changer. To use the iSimple, you'll need to disconnect the cd changer entirely. (the aux button is what the iSimple uses to work your iPhone controls. But only '99 and newer HU's have the correct wiring inside needed to work.

black- 2002 trans am
that mod can be done easily by yourself ( if its the same mod i did on mine) i bought a jack from radio shack for two bucks and wired it to my cd player. Its a mod i got from another site it works really good. It gives you a jack to connect your ipod cable to. It basically bypasses the cd player when nothing is connected, but when you want to listen to a cd, you simply disconnect the ipod and the cd player plays.
