torrid red/red interior- 2005 GTO 6spd
how to hook amp & subs to monsoon?
I am gonna purchase 2 12" 3000 watt rockford fosgate subs in a q-logic box---what amp do u suggest? someone told me it had to have speaker level inputs since the monsoon has no rca pre-outs---so what do i do just pull speaker wires from the sail panel subs and stick them in the speaker level input screws of the amp? and then the sail panel subs are no more?---which speaker wire from the sail panel do i use---i think there are 4 going to each sail panel speaker---and aren't those wires already amplified from the factory amp-----this should be simple but i'm making it hard aren't i? someone tell me how to do it---thanks in advance f-bod gurus

Midnight Blue- 99' Trans Am
Buy an amp with a built in crossover. It will have 5 wires sticking out if the amp. If you get one of these all you have to do is splice into the 2 rear speakers with the cross over wires. Run all the other wires normal except antenna. This is the hard part look in your fuses and find a fuse that gets power when the key is on and has no power when the key is off. Run a wire of it. Get a 2 way switch (radio shack like $1). mount it anywhere you want. Run the antenna and fuse wire to it. That way when you don't want to bump leave the switch off and you can listen normally.
The subs you want to buy will have a RMS watts range like 300-500 watts. You want to get an amp to have the same or close RMS range.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
fuck, i made a write up for this and lost it now...oh well, here it goes:
Rip out mid-bass speakers from quarter panels, extend those wires all the way to your sub's amp b/c they carry the low frequency from the HU and there will be no need for a built-in-crossover on the amp.
replace the stock mid-bass with full range speakers and splice them from the rear deck speakers
boom.
