got a alpine CDA 9887 new from amazon.......they dont make this bad boy any more ...... I got it especially for its IMPRINT feature.......its a feature which will compensate for the acoustics in your car environment.....to use it you need a separate kit to implement it......which includes software and a special microphone.....i cant afford it right now so its on the back burner
a few items will help for a install.....these are METRA items i got from amazon also
99-3009 faceplate kit
40-GM10 antenna adapter
70-1858 wire harness adapter
and a AXXESS universal adapter for the steering wheel controls.....from amazon also
follow alongLast edited by sjsingle1; 03-13-2011 at 12:06 AM.

the wire harness was a PITA to get off....had to reach under by the glove box to get the left hand harness loose ...then you can pull it out a little more to get the main harnessLast edited by sjsingle1; 03-12-2011 at 07:56 PM.

the nub on the back of the radio fits into that hole in the back of the dash.....had to cut it off and unbolt the metal bracket that is attached to it........the alpine was a hair longer that the stock radio and hit itLast edited by sjsingle1; 03-12-2011 at 08:11 PM.

you can see why you need a adapter on the antenna .....its really short and will not fit into conventional antenna receptaclesLast edited by sjsingle1; 03-12-2011 at 07:59 PM.

i cut the plastic part of the dash and all that is left is the metal bracket.....the foam is leftover from my intake gasket kit and did nicely to help prop up the stereoLast edited by sjsingle1; 03-12-2011 at 08:00 PM.
