flip up headlight

on my 2000 trans am the drivers side headlight will come up and turn on but when i turn the lights off the headlight goes down but it makes a loud buzzing sound does any one know what that could be?

The gears in the motor are bad. You can replace the whole motor or there are threads on here with links showing how to replace and repair the stripped gear in the motor. Very common with our cars.

Why is it always drivers side????? i replaced the gear couple of year ago worked fine until som weeks ago. Seems that glue went old and bad, motor was open. Put some new glue on worked until yesterday - now same shit happend....thinking of replace the whole shit with non-pop lights and save some weight.

Go to thisd page. It shows you how to rotate the gear a half turn to get another lifetime out of it, and then you can order a metal gear from this guy so it will last WAY longer.

i know they make brass gears that wont strip you will just have to search the web for them

He absolutely is still selling them, last I heard. I bought two of them from him maybe a couple months ago and have already installed one, with perfect results so far. Make sure to tighten up the housing tabs like he mentions on that page.
