    Question Factory CD Changer mounting

I found a factory 12-disc cd changer that plugs into the existing harness on my factory monsoon cd radio system and it works great. Now all I need is to mount it. I know about where it goes in the back. I ordered 3 brackets from GM. Does anyone have any pictures? My car is a 99 Ws6 convertible if that makes any difference.

    thanks

It goes in the space behind the drivers side rear wheel well, facing the right side I took mine out and put in a Kenwood system. I mounted the Kenwood changer in the same location, but i had to drill a couple of new holes. I don't think the holes come predrilled. You will have mark them and drill them out.

I don't have any picks of the changer, but I can take some if you need a look.

I basically ordered every bracket i found in the GM parts book. It pinches the CD changer brackets under the carpet, there are no holes to mount it. My carpet had two spots where it was perforated/slit the brackets slipped through those two spots and then bolted to the changer.

I only drilled two holes for my kenwood, cause the factory brackets woul not work. I also put a 1" thick peace of foam underneath the unit so that bumps would not jar it!

Thanks for the info so far, guys. If somebody has a picture of how the brackets are mounted to the trunk floor, it would help me.

I also installed a factory CD changer in my car. The factory apparently installed the two long brackets by spot welding them to the floor. I used the factory brackets and held them down with two screws in each

Thanks ZeeVert. That's the kind of help I was looking for. If I could see a picture of the exact factory mounted bracket, it would be perfect. I'm going to look for a local car that has a factory system. I bought the factory brackets and I will glue or screw them down. I didn't realize they were originally spot welded.

I'm not positive... I never saw a factory install, but what else could it be? The pictures do show the factory brackets that I ordered from GMDirect. They were only a few bucks each. They weren't painted, so I painted them pretty thick with black to keep them from rusting.
