Factory 12 disc failed

can anyone help? my 12 disc changer keeps throwing up error 31 and sometimes error 34. it wont play,but occasionally reads a disc,plays a few tracks,then if i hit a bump will lose the track it's playing.then i have to search for a disc it wants to play,and i have to leave it alone! Is this common for this changer,as i was told they suffer with communication problems to the head unit.is this so?
are there any disc changers i can replace it with,as i would like to retain the 'Monsoon' system? any help would be appreciated.

Mine sucks too. At times it just won't play or take 15 minutes trying to find the disk. and it just won't play the 1st or 11th disk.

As i hear, if you want to swap it out for an aftermarket unit, you have to swap everything out, which sucks, but is just par for the course. Sorry.

E31 is tracking error - clean disc, rough road, high humidity.
E34 is changer door open

Swap everything out like the HU and the CD changer? Might as well because Monsoon suck balls anyway. I'm getting mine replaced one by one.

Try cleaning the laser head in the changer by putting in a CD laser lens cleaner in the CD cartridge, then run it like any other CD. I had some tracking problems with my changer before I cleaned the laser lens, it may help you too. Good luck.

Thanx for the advice guys! ok,cleaned the laser head,stuck a few cd's in,and it played.......cool.decided to go for a cruise,and here we go again,lost the track again.yep,guess its gonna have to come out........

l would suggest you get another car.

j/k. in 1998 factory had 12 disc changer???? damn that must have been a great technology back then..
