Door speaker replacement ?

I replaced my in door speakers and the factory speakers had 4 wires on them.
The new speakers only had 2 wires and now there is barely any sound from the new door speakers. Ive tried several combinations hooking them up but Im at my wits end. WTF? Im not very electronics minded but this is ridiculous.
Any ideas?
Am I going to have to spend more money and get component speakers that use 4 wires?

what speakers did you use to replace them with?

the door speakers have seperate wires for power for the tweater and the other one. if your new speaker just has one set of + and - then just hook up one positive wire and one negative wire, and make sure you hook them up right. and no you dont have to go out and buy a speaker that has two sets of positive and negatives.

I ran into the same issue, You will just have too do trial and error until you find the best sound or buy the correct speakers, Im pretty sure they are just any brand two way speakers. Should have connections for all four wires.
I had too return my normal speakers for some two -ways

Seeings how Ill prolly replace the deck next year instead of messing around with it anymore I just put the factory ones bck in untill I replace the deck.
