    Dome light connection not working

My buddy has a 94 Firebird. The other day he told me that the bulbb for his dome light (between the passenger seats) went out some time ago. I was going to replace it with a new one (several - LEDs and bulbs) but none of them worked. I tried them in my car and they did work. Now, his map lights work, and the fuse for the COURTESY LIGHTS in the fuse box is intact. I need to know what could cause the power loss for just this particular connection.

Check the fuses again, also get a multi-meter and see if you are getting power at the light fixture.

Well, the only fuse I know of to check for the courtesy lights, is in the fuse box on the driver's side of the dash. He has a fuse box under the hood, but too dirty to read any of the labels. and I don't have access to a multi-meter at the moment.

Make sure you check the fuse for continuity. I've had fuses that "looked" good when in fact they were blown.

I agree with above thats the best way but you could allways pull another fuse from somethin you know works and is around the same size and plug it in.

    Okay, so now...

what if there is no power going to the connection? What could be the cause/problem? Is there a way to tap into the wiring for the lights to the map light?
