It cost me a pretty penny ($500), but I am completely satisfied with my Alpine CDA-9855. Let's me control my iPod from the deck, and I can choose other colors than just blue and green.

I can't think of the model (it is less expensive than the awesome one above)....but as far as a company -- Alpine has the most I-pod friendly units.

what's your price range? then you'll have to decide if you want something cheaper (like dual) or namebrand that can sometimes be expensive...but that deck above is awesome

I'll probably never buy anything again unless it's panasonic. They have a great equalizer and they also have a great built in amp. On top of that you can connect up your ipod so you can control it thru the deck or just do it the way i do and hook it up thru the aux input.

I bought this one for 140 online. I like the blue lighting but the display isn't the greatest and only has a few animations, but that's not why I bought it. Panasonics are just simply the best head unit for the price. I have two panasonics and i'll probably never buy anything else.

I have Kenwood Excelon and I love it. I can control the Ipod through the deck. It cost about 350 but its got a lot of stuff on it like a G force meter and HP gauge.

I just installed a Pioneer 7900BT. I'm very happy with it, it sounds awesome, has kick a** features including built-in blue tooth, IPOD control, and all kinds of other stuff. User friendly and very configurable. I does cost a pretty penny but it is worth it all the way. I priced it at Circuit City then went to Best Buy so they could price match it...which they did.

Here's the deck I have. I don't know if it still comes with the adapter cable for the direct Ipod hookup but when i bought it, it did. The only thing it doesn't have that the info shows is the USB hook up cause that was like 50bucks more. It'll also tell how the current g-force your pulling during cornering and acceleration.

I know with most newer alpine decks that are ipod ready have a module u can get to control the ipod through the unit and also have everything capable to use if you have steering wheel controls too. Ive had my deck for 3 years now and it never skips and its been through 3 accidents in vehicles and installed now in my 4th vehicle and works awesome. Id have to give Alpine my vote.
