triple-black- 2000 CamaroSS convertible
defective yellow optima battery. anyone had same ?
My Yellow Optima battery can't hold its charge.
Alternator is new (AC-Delco)... and had the battery fully-charged, starting the car on a dime. removed the battery from the car and left it inside, on top of a rubber thing ~70-75'F ambiant temperature.
After 2 weeks, battery totally disconnected, outside of car, voltage shows 7.4V
I think i need a new battery... what you guys think ?
I charged it again and car works fine... but when leaving car not in use for several days, struggles to start.
Anybody experienced the same thing ?Last edited by Eugenio_SS; 05-27-2008 at 09:54 PM. Reason: typo

they only sell red and blue ones close to my place... they don't have yellows.
based on Optima website, the blues are as good as yellows, build for marine equipment.
deep cycled as well... red's aren't deep cycle.
I guess I'll get a blue one... since yellow aren't available. specs are identical.

I had a blue top in my last car for a couple of months, because my other battery went down and I had this one laying around from where I removed my stereo out of the car. I never had any problems with the battery and it started my car fine till I wanted to spend the money for a different one.
