08 Mustang GT/CS Blue- 2002 Trans Am WS6 traded
I have an alpine deck, and although I haven't done it yet, I have looked into this same question. I was told Alpine makes a kit specific to their deck to integrate the buttons, so maybe Pioneer does too--check out their website or ask a reputable audio shop near you. I also came across a universal kit for any deck that came with a remote control. Sorry-I have no links... But in short--yes you can do it--if i think about it i will look again and post links for you--its been over a year since i looked. Both I have seen just serve as a second remote, the steering wheel button inputs are translated into remote control signals. You mount an eye, just like the front of your remote, which transmits the signal.

The kit you are talking about is not just for Alpine it will work with about any head unit. I had one in my 96 monte carlo. It worked ok unless there was something in front of the signal. Check with a local stereo shop they are not very expensive.
