Completed stereo install.
Alpine 9857 HU with the HUmount, 2 pairs of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 component speakers with tweeter pods for the fronts, only the 6.5" Kappa Perfect subwoofer's in the sail panels, they're powered by Alpine PDX 4.150 amp 150X4 rms @2ohms, 300X4 max...
subwoofer is Alpine Type R 1022 500-1500Wrms @2 ohms, powered by Alpine PDX 1.1000 1000Wrms amp and a 3 farad capacitor, subthump stealthbox and amp rack...
Not bad...
Could've been better, and, not bad...
Pics of the back when the lights are on and I'm bumpin' down the highway...
From the front...
day pics of the rear setup...

I'm pretty pleased with it!
Max volume is @35, I've never took it that high but I have taken it as high as 25, that's definitely live concert ear damaging volume, and it still sounds EXTREMELY sharp and clean with no distortion, exactly what I wanted my sound system to do.

love the HU and HUmount -- what do you think of the type R back there? I've heard mixed reviews..

Well, only thing I can say is from experience, or bottomline my LACK of experience, this is the only REAL car audio system that I have ever owned.
I've heard other friends with their car audio's, got a friend with a black 01 Z28 with a 12" JL Audio and that sucker is pretty intense.
But to tell you the truth, once I figured out that my amp was set @50% and when I raised it to max gain that 10" was BANGIN', and I mean crisp and sharp hits, it's pretty outstanding to me.
I can definitely overpower the song with too much sub if I want to, and it's not necessary.
A friend of mine, Skytower31 on ls2.com told me to get a high powered amp that'll push whatever sub I get, and I know that that PDX 1.1000 amp is pretty powerful so it's driving that Type R real good.
I'm definitely not lacking for power for a system that is not carshow outstanding, but outstanding nonetheless.
I think I made some good choices! Wish you could hear it.

Another Black- 02 Z28
Pretty nifty HU mounts. I cut a piece of ABS plastic and bent a pair of brackets out of 18 Ga steel. But mine doesn't have the pretty light ups. Instead I mounted my O2 meters there. Plus gives me space for a switch or two in the future.
Do your T-Tops still fit in there?Last edited by Xenophon; 04-17-2007 at 08:06 AM. Reason: question

I was gonna ask if your t-tops fit also but someone beat me to it, you could try mounting your amps over your gas tank instead, i did it on my first car, a 3.8 Firebird, it looked sicked.
