Ive done it several times before. Like el toro loco said you just have to bypass the switch. Just have it installed like any other car and bypass it when you get home. It will definetly move if its in gear though.

Yeah it will work like said above. The problem is you forgetting to leave it out of gear. Lots of bad things can happen like the car running into a garage door or another car and anyone who did the install could be found liable.

Well if you start the engine while the car is sitting in gear it is going to move because the transmission is engaged. In an auto the car would be in park, so it won't go anywhere.
EDIT: Just leave the transmission disengaged (neutral) and pull your e-brake. Just know that if you are going to remote start the car you DO NOT want it left in gear.
I didn't even know it was possible to install one of these on a manual, but I guess I never thought about making it work. I don't drive my Camaro when it's cold, but if I get a manual DD I will be doing this...

if they do it regularly they should know how, jus tell him its manual. if he a good one an cares about his reputation. he might try to talk u out of it for the safety reason of leaving it in gear, but most guys i talk to who install alarms know how to do it.

Here in Tulsa I do not think any reputable shop will do it for fear of law suit.. Also all the remote start alarms make it very clear in their instructions that you are NOT to hook up the remote start feature on a manual car. They will install the alarm for you but you will have to hook up the remote start..
I'm sure you can find some small shop that is willing to do it though.
