Best sounding speakers
I have had Rockford Fosgate top of the line in my car, I now have the Power Bass and really can't stand them. I was thinking of going back to the Fosgate but before I do there are 2 other I consider. I looked at the MB Quartz and the Infinity Kappa's. Or if there are any others. I just something that will last nd be clean.

Puter- 01 TA
I'd nix the idea of the Kappa's (personal opinion).
I personally run the MB Quart components, they are ultra crisp and clean although the tweeters needed some tweaking. IMHO they needed to be dialed down a few db at the crossover. I personally used a set of RF titanium tweeters in their place because the MB tweets were VERY BRIGHT.
Also, if your really serious another company the only other one to seriously consider is Focal (look at the K2's for some nice ones). They make some of the best speaker setups along with MBQ (recommend QSD / QSC / PVF series).Last edited by punisherTA; 06-21-2008 at 05:10 AM.

Diamond Audio. They blew my old Type X's away. Price is pretty steep though ($600 at Ultimate Electronics. I paid $300 on ebay).

Rockford isn't that good anymore. But that is besides the point.
What are you pushing these speakers with? Are they running off the deck?
Also do you have any type of EQ or adjustable X-over?
The amp or deck's power make a HUGE difference in the sound of the speaker.
Are the your Power Bass speakers capped off to at least cut the deep bass out that they can't respond to?
Power Bass is actually one of the better new audio company's from Germany.
They are like everyone else now and have cheap shit and a high qaulity line.
The GOAT is ALL Power Bass and sounds great and has won it's share of awards.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

I am running a 800 a2 just on the 12' Power DVC Rockford, and a 600 a4 on Rockford X's and Q's, with a XM 3 E elect. cross over. I really like the Power 1000 but I also like the JL 500/5 I can't make up my mind.

Between those 2 I would by far go with the 25 to life if that was the 1000 you were talking about.

Yes that is the one, but then again I just found a Memphis Belle
5-Channel MClass Series Amplifier
Class-AB / Class-D Hybrid Amplifier
Compact Aluminum Chassis with Custon Black Pearl Finish
Gold Plated RCA Connectors
Full MOSFET Design
Fully Variable Crossover: HP/LP (40 Hz - 6 kHz) (Channels 1-4)
Fully Variable Crossover: LP (50 Hz - 250 Hz), Subsonic (20 - 50 Hz) (Channel 5)
4-Way Protection Circuitry
Platinum Finish Wire Connections
Accepts 4 Gauge Power and Ground Wire
Optional Wired Remote Gain Control
RMS Power Ratings:
75 watts x 4 chan. / 300 watts x 1 chan. @ 4 ohms
115 watts x 4 chan. / 600 watts x 1 chan. @ 2 ohms
1100 watts x 1 chan. @ 1 Ohm (ONLY CHANNEL 5 IS 1 OHM STABLE!)
Out of the 2 which would you think is the better one. The 1000 Rockford is around 500, and the Memphis around 700.Last edited by screamin chicken; 06-25-2008 at 03:44 AM.

Well to really know yes. You can measure each sub with the speaker wire off from the amp put a multi meter on the OHM's option and touch on the box leads.
That will tell you what it's at now. But since you don't know or remember it could be a dual voice coil sub wired in Series or Parallel.

just took it out it says 4 ohm, 4 sets of connector, from the amp one goes to + and then the - goes to the other side, then there is a single wire connecting the last 2 together. Parallel or Series????

So on the sub there was 4 connectors on each or only two?
If there was 4 each pair is usually 180* from the other.
But if I'm understanding correctly you have single 4 ohm subs which means you can either run a 8 ohm load or a 2 ohm load.
So you need a amp that puts out good power @ 2ohm's bridged for the subs. It doesn't matter what it has at 1 ohm or if it can run @ 1/2 ohm because you can't come up with that load.

I am running one sub, but it does only have 1 set of connectors on each side, meaning 2 (+) 2 (-). between the 2 Power 1000 or is there anything you can recommend....
