battery short
Hey guys I have a short in my battery r in the cables sometimes when I go to start the car it will short out no power anywhere. it don't happen all the time but I checked the cables and there tight. does anybody know what to check are replace? tx Dwayne

You need check every inch of the line that comes from your starter. Also check the line from the battery to first fuse box. Obviously disconnect the battery before you start to trace the wires. Look for nicks, quite possibly caused by the wire rubbing against metal. Also, if you wire are red, clean them up and look for and burnt marks. Wires are pretty inexpensive and easy to replace. Clean both battery terminals and wire connections w/a wire brush too.
This is if it's a short. If it's shorting out your battery will be "discharged" all the time or you'll be blowing fuses. If this isn't the case, it's not shorting out. It could be an iginiton problem instead or a bad starter.

check the ground wire that is above the starter, on the block.

hey guys I found out what is wrong with my car. the battery cable was all dirty with battery acid under the boot on the cables lol. pertty easy fix but tx for the replay.
