    Question Amp Placement

Can I see pictures of where people mount their amps at?

I can't decide where the most appropriate place to mount it would be (out of sight, not in the T-Tops way, not puncturing the tank, ect) and would like some insight ... I've found a few mounting racks for different placement of amps and just would like some opinions.

    ...and GO!

I saw a pic of someone who mounted it on the trunk cover, thought it was pretty creative. Thought it was cool, let me see if I can find it.

It's an Alpine 500w amp (may or may not be dual channel, I didn't look) ... dimensions: 10 5/8" by 9 1/2" ... like 5lbs or so and I have the stealth box with a 10" Alpine Type R in it (which I also don't know how to secure it w/o going thru something else

i skipped over that one ... my only thing with that would that if someone decided they wanted to gank it ... smash my window, yank and go, it'd be easy

Maybe mount the amp near the spare tire. Is there room behind the panel for it?

Cut a piece of mdf and attach it to the spare. Then you can mount the amp to that. I remember seeing a pic of someone doing it.

i was thinking of putting it behind the t-tops on the back wall under the hatch latch but it's not really a flat surface to mount it to

I've always liked this set up. When the time comes, it's how I'll do mine.

I honestly don't know. I copied these pictures, don't remember from where when I first got my car to use as an example to show the guys at Soundman what I wanted. I really liked the set up. My car still has to be a grocery getter, so... I need my space back there.

Do you have a custom auto stereo shop in your area? I'd ask someone there for some ideas.

You could make something out of mdf. Just contour it to the back wall and make it big enough to fit your amp.

Grab some cardboard, masking tape, and a utility knife and make a template.
