Alpine install, need brake wire color code

Im installing an Alpine cd/dvd/nav unit and its calling for emergency and foot brake connections. Ive looked at the diagram I have and it seems to say the light blue wire is for the foot brake,I hooked it up to that one and it doesnt work. I hooked it up to the orange wire too and that didnt work either. The emergency brake only has one wire so that one seems easy. Thanks for the help.

are you trying to hook it up so you can watch movies while driving. If so, you need to hook up toggle switches, one to a 12v, and the other to a ground. I dont remember which is which, but that is what i did so the H/U thinks you have the e-brake on and are stopped. It was on my old jeep, otherwise I'd look at it for ya, have fun, it took me a while to it to play while i was in gear!

The orange wire is your supply voltage going to the brake stoplamp switch. THe Light Blue wire gets turned on when you apply your brake pedal. So it's a positive signal.
(Talking about "C1" Grey 2 pin block)
Is the alpine looking for a Negative Trigger?
If so, You'll need to add a relay.
I've got the schematic for a negative trigger...if you need it.

Oh...and double check the fuse to the brakes...you may have popped it if you grounded it out.

    thanks,
For the future, the light blue wire next to the orange is the one that the black and yellow wire go to. This is for most Alpine HU and DVD players.
