Adding a sub to bone-stock TA Vert
Been out of the game for a while with newer cars, but I just got an 18K mile 2000 T/A Vert I'd like to add a sub to. My amp has hi-level inputs and I've noticed how the rear speakers are crossed over. What I'd like to do is tap into the existing wiring near the amp connector. I want to leave the stock system alone...just add some thump (12" Sub with 300W amp).
Anybody know what color wires I'm looking for? Which sode of the cnnector is coming from / going to the amp?
Thanks,
Josh
P.S. Scored the car cheap and it lived in a frigging ziploc (older couple bought it). It is absolutely showroom

I just used a line converter and tapped into the factory subs in the sail panels..but i tapped them at the amp to clean things up.

Dude, that's awesome...but...
For some reason my wire colors are different from the diagram. Maybe it's because it's a Pontiac or because it's convertible. Either way...I appreciate the help. I may solder connections to the red / black wires (piggy-back) on the rear speakers...assuming black is ground and red is pos. I was just thinking (preferring) the signal from the head unit (unamplified) would be cleaner. Hmmm. What to do. Well, I'll either figure it out or fry the monsoon trying!
Again, thanks for your help!
P.S. Other car is a 1970 GTO that runs 12.40's at 118mph. Much easier to install the sound system in that one...all you can hear are the 3" turbo mufflers popping :-) Old school mechanic with a newer car, I am. If I ever get a check engine light I'll have to check my shorts first.

Yeah, about tapping the signal wire...
I tried that and i didn't get anything. The Monsoon system is really unusual. Go ahead and use the output wires from the amp to the subs...but if you have a Pontiac, they might be DVC subs and you'll need to see a diagram to see which to tap into.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
hey hoss, you ready?
tear off the sail panels, un bolt the stock subs, those have subwoofer wires running into them. Run wire from those to the amp. Throw away the stock subs or use them as ashtrays. Toss some 2 way speakers in the sail panel location and piggy back thoses off of the mid range speaker in the rear deck.
good luck. PM me with any questions
