1998 Camaro Stereo install
I am trying to install a new deck in my 98 camaro. I dont have the monsoon stereo, it's just a cassette deck with a changer in the trunk. It has 6 speakers
(doors, right by the back seat and some all the way in the back). So is there 3 pairs of speakers to hook up? Is there a pin out for the harness posted somewhere?

Do you already have your new head unit?

Not yet, I was trying to find the wires first.
Thanks for moving this thing. . . . . . .

I already got one. But I am looking at this thing and it only has 4 pairs of wires for speakers.

That sucks since the speakers by the rear seats are only made to produce bass.

if you replaced them with full range speakers then they will produce all frequencies.

sounds like the monsoon amp. you can use it with your new stereo, you just need to find the remote wire for the amp.

It's not a Monsoon stereo. Fuck that AMP.

honesty, i wouldn't go through all of that mess just to run the speakers off the head unit. what i would do, is just get the adapters, and run it as is for now. even off the stock amp. until you plan to upgrade the speakers in the future.
that way, you can just run all new speaker wire from your after market amps to the speakers, and then some day, if you ever decide to sell, you still have the stock shit ran, and all in one piece. that way you can just reconnect the plugs, without having to fuck with all of the wires again.

I thought about that. But I don't care to much. I spliced all the wires to run directly out of the head unit to the speakers. I am getting a pair of new 6 1/2's for the back seat. I am going to sell all of my stock junk, so I can get some cash out of it. But, if I ever do sell it I will leave in the aftermarket deck. By that time it will not be cool anymore.
