12 disc changer help

I believe I have the stock 12 disc changer in the back of my WS6 I just purchased. I'm unable however to get the head unit to control the changer as described in the owners manual (supposed to be able to use the CD/Play button to switch between CDs). The in dash CD player internal to the head unit works just fine, but no go from the changer.

I've put a few discs in the changer for testing which made it obvious that its still got power and thinks its working because:

1. I opened the sliding door and it ejected automatically
2. I put in a few CDs and I could hear it cycling them after I closed the door
3. I could see the light inside the changer lit when I opened the sliding door.

I hope I'm missing something? Is there some way to tell the head unit that the changer is there via the controls, or do I need to start pulling stuff and checking connections?

I had a similar problem...it turns out that the cd's themselves have to be put into the changer upside down(cd label not facing you)...hope this helps!

Yeah, I thought I had done that. I'll double check. But I can't see any sign of the changer from the head unit either... shouldnt the CD light be blinking while the changer is cycling CDs?

Any body? The discs are in the changer in the correct direction... ???
