88mph is the minimum speed required. The important thing is that you get at least 1.21 gigawatts of power to the flux capacitor.

This is all in the GTO's owner manual.

Now get out your Haynes Flux Capacitor book at and go to section 4: " Knowing what the flux your talking about"

On page 2 it clearly says.

"88mph should be all the inertia and velocity required to activate your flux capacitor, if not activating until higher speed it may be possible that you have a intertial leak, check the digital readout of gigawatts on the back, if your readout is below 1.21 gigawatts and your flux capacitor does not activate at 88mph exactly follow these troubleshooting FAQs, refer to FIG 4."

Wow that was a bunch of BS

they really are great cars. I have an 04 and my brother has an 06. If I was getting one I'd really try to get an 05-06 but the price of the 04's would be hard to pass up. They're very cheap for the car you get.

Its wierd how the price of living is totally different here. Stuff is cheap because minumum wage is like 6 something, but Birds, vettes, and goats are all EXTREMELY expensive. I paid 10 for mine.. which I got raped hard but there is a great looking 125k 04 goat at the local dealer and they want 17,5 for it. Most v6 birds even with over 125k go for over 6k.

Yeah me too on the history lesson. Officially every country artist came from kentucky... lots of people that I had no clue about. Kinda off topic and its all John Deloreans fault...

Woah.. in two ways...since he helped create the GTO and his dmc12s flux capacitor...

Do you really have to wear three shirts and have all three collars up to post there?
