    Transmission filter?

How do I know what trans filter I need. I figured there was only one but when I went to napa today there is suposidly 2 different ones.

    1. is w/ 2 7/8" Deep Pan All Plastic - Black Filter

2.w/ 2 1/8" Deep Pan All Plastic - Gray Filter

So what one do I need for my 05 GTO?

Two filter options, eh? Did the salesperson ask you for the VIN#? I can only see if there was an transmission option, two different filter listings would exist.

The two I listed are straight from napa's website.

From the pics on napa's website they look identical just on is grey and the other black. What throws me off is the pan depth they list both are different. I might just buy both and return which ever one does't work.

So then why does napa have two? Heres a link to the filters http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPage...d=8&SubCatId=5 At this point I don't really care I got one from autozone that I know fits, just curious as to why they list two and what the difference is for future referance.

Who knows parts numbers get scattered around... Napa sucks anyway. I work at Advance Auto Parts... so they're better.

I beleive you need the one that does not fit the deep pan,I have the deep pan on mine due to the trans brake, otherwise stock trans pan takes the shallower one.
