there is no trailer hitch that I've ever been aware of on any of the performance GM cars.
Most people that want one have to buy them afterwards and have them installed

This is for the guy who does not think there is a trailer hitch mount on the GTO. It is under the plastic dust shield which covers the underside of the trunk. I am sure it is a standard item for other Holdens like our model. Holden produces a 4 door sister model of this car, sans the Lsx motor, as a family sedan. Thus, the provisions for the trailer hitch. You would think Holden would want to save some money by deleting the mount.
Wasting such money is certain indicator that the car was not manufactured here. In addition, no one, or at least no American, would put a trailer hitch on a performance car. I guess they think it is a cool selling feature, or something. I have found more ridiculous things on this car than on a 1960 Rambler. But such are the way of things in the land of Oz.Last edited by rednari; 08-19-2007 at 11:20 PM.

This for got1goat. I guess the world includes all kinds of people. But I have never seen a trailer hooked to a goat. There must be a notch cut in the rear bumper plastic face to allow the hitch to pass through to the mount. I still would not use the trailer to haul the tires. I would put them in the trunk or the chase car. I suppose they remove the mount and the hitch before the run to save weight, or is not important to those who have a hitch.

quick question! I removed the trailer hitch brace but am wondering if I should or NEED to reinstall the air dam "for some high speed air drag issues" And if i need to what do I bolt it to? Because the air damn was connect to the brace. Now that the brace isnt there the air dam is all loose. Any suggestions?
Thanks

No you will not need it. Drag is not a big issue there. There are several bolts remaining to reinstall the cover if you like. Thats what I did to protect the area from rocks and water after removing the brace.
