thinking about getting a 05-06 GTO

the 2005-2006 Pontiac GTOs are really starting to grow on me LoL! correct me if im wrong but didnt the 2005 GTO have the LS2 & dual exhaust? i think im right or i might be mistaking it for the 2006 models,well i know i want a GTO black with either all black interior or black with red interior i wish i could find one with the sport appearance package too i might sell the T/A after all or sell the 05 GTP Comp G Grand Prix who knows LoL!

Yes both the '05 and '06 models come with the LS2 engine and dual exhaust outlets in the back. It is measured at 400 hp and tq at the crank. The SAP package is harder to come by. Good luck in finding one.

i found a 06 on auto trader with a kit that looks similar to the sport appearance package,but i'll pass on that one & i also found another black on black 05 w/o the SAP that i really like ,i like how deep the grilles are & how the ground effects look on the GTOs with the SAP,but no biggie,i wish all GTOs had a power sunroof option,but i'll settle for no sunroof(although i love sunroofs) i would get one installed but i wont for 3 reasons:
1.i hate the way aftermarket sunroofs look,you can tell they're not factory installed because they use thick rubber that literally sticks out of the top of your car

2.aftermarket sunroofs LEAK like hell, & last but not least

3.i would rather spend the cash on performance upgrades

IMO the GTO's were perfect candidates for a sunroof option from the factory. Stupid of GM not to do that. I always wished mine had one. I have seen some guys with aftermarket sunroofs and they look good.

If not mistaken they are a dealer installed option but yes some are aftermarket.

They all have "dual" exahaust its just that the 05/06 are split. The 04 is dual just as the 05/06 just they pop out the same hole. Its a micsonception that some people dont realize.

If you are going to mod the piss out of it I would go with the 04 because of the cost savings. If you are going to leave it stock get the 05/06. They are great cars. Some of the LS2 did have some oil drinking issues though so watch for that.

I haven't seen many GTOs around my area with a sunroof. The ones I have seen had the Webasto roof and there were no complaints. I don't mind not having a sunroof. I think that's part of the reason my insurance is cheaper but I could be wrong.
