T/C Control Button
DAMN!! I just fininshed racing a 00 camaro SS (stock) and just murdered it!! The only thing i didnt like is the start..My 04 GOAT just SPUN so much!! the wheels were spinning on my GOAT..I had the T/C off...Should it be on while racing or off!!????????????????????
' Just to add, i had actually raced this same car (00 ss camaro) and when i didnt have it tuned, the damn car would beat the crap out of me!! Now with a Tune i can say that it probly made a good 25-30 HP!! I cant believe how badly tuned the 04 GTO's STOCK!! But Thats probly the best upgrade anyone with a stock gto can make!!

YJ- 04 GTO M6
I think the best first upgrade for the GTO is...
M6-GMM ripshift
A4-delete torque management
But yes, tunes help these cars a lot. Maybe it doesnt show it on the dyno but on the street/strip you can tell.

Hey 0436 are you A4 and Doug J you must be M6. Please let me know to see if I can help, but one thing for sure make sure your TC is off when racing. I have the diablo and happy with it but know a good tune would be better.

Well guys Sarge has a monkey to turn his off, so that answers that question. Think I will get one but I have myself on auto because after the car goes through its checks I turn it off, I too hate that system.

till you get a chimp, if you want to, you can just unplug the traction control module under the hood. (box with the throttle cables running in and out of it)
you trac off light will be on, but it wont hurt anything and you can plug it back in to turn it back on again....i forgot to hit the hit button a fewtimes at the track in the staging lanes when i fired the car back up too

Impulse Blue- 2004 GTO
You want to run with the T/C off when running it. Leaving it on will pull a ton of timing out.

off topic: hey sarge, i had no problems before i started. i dropped the tranny last weekend, swapped stalls....well tried, but wrong stall so i put mine back in.....plugged all plugs back in, first no mph reading and car wouldnt shift. unpluged speed sensor and pushed wires back into plug (to be sure they didnt get popped out. car reads 0 mph till i get to abt 10-15mph, then it reads speed and shfs fine (like sensor is lazy)
The jack dropped down when puting tranny back in and vehical speed sensor wires got pulled tight. thinking of putting in new sensor and cutting and splicing in two new wires to be sure i didnt break them internaly.
is that how you would handle it?

OP, Its a good idea when you start the Goat to let it do the engine check before engaging drive, and right when it says everything's hunky-dory, thats when I push the T/C button. Weird thing though, I spilled a tiny bit of Vanilla Chai from Dunkin Donuts into that area, and it was tempermental for almost a year. I pulled the same dumbass move a few weeks ago, only with Hot Chocolate from DD, and she works perfect now. Im gettin a chimp as soon as cash permits though, I've heard you can drop the rear end if T/C is left on and you start off hard.
