    Question shifts

    i was wondering at what RPM should i be doing my shifts this might be a dumb ? but i want to be able to get better gas mileage out of my 06 GTO 6 speed also is down shifting bad for my tranny.

    A) Wrong car for 'good' gas mileage.....but, using the factory 'skip-shift' and always keeping the car in the highest possible gear at all times will help.

    B) Down shifting has no adverse affects on the tremec t-56 trans in our cars although it will wear the clutch out much, much quicker than just using your brakes.
