Rims and tire size options
Deployment time has come once again!!! All that makes me think of is the personal Christmas I can have when I get back. That being said I really need new tires and want new rims. I wanted to know if 275 in the rear is possible on a 17inch rim. and if so what width does the rim have to be to support that. I would also like to accomplish maximum width without rolling the fenders. Whatever insight yall have would be most appreciated.

You should be fine with a 17x9.5 wheel.

No fit problem with that rim size.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

How wide can the tire be with respect to the rim and fenders?

I would say a 275 tire is about all you can put on a stock 04 GTO rim.
