Some get a 275/40R17 without any problems.

I decided to stick with the stock size and went with an agressive grip tire, Hankook V12, Car and Driver rated #2 tire right behind the Michelin PS2s which are $265 a tire. I am a good weather driver only, if you drive all year you might need something more appropriate for all seasons.

ive got an 04, but i have nitto drs 275/40/17 on stock rims with no fender rolling and no drag bags, i wouldnt suggest doing any burn outs or trying to track them without bags though, as the rear suspension drops so low under hard throttle it will jsut eat the hell out of the insides of your tires.
also, ive heard more people getting away with 275 tires on 04s then the 05/06 cars, not sure why, but it seems that way.
