Rear ends
Im a F-body guy but Im looking into GTOs. Whats the Rear-ends of a GTO like. I know they are IRS's. How strong are they? are they better than the 10 bolts on the F-bodys?

Phantom Black Metalic- 2005 GTO
well all i can say is I have went 10.9 at 129mph with my stock rear end stock suspension ,best 60 ft was 1.61 gto is a heavy car,I personally like the way the car drives and handles, also vettes have been using IRS for years.
mods: custom built twins, built 408 w/l92 stock GM heads,GM matching intake, drag bags, frame ties, aluminum drive shaft, performabuilt 4l80e,Yank converter, ohios fastest and quickest 04-06 GTO 9.52 at 144mph. 1.50 60ft on stock rear end and shafts/suspension,on drag radials.

im guessing then that GTO and vettes (of course) rearends can take way more then a stock 10 bolt. Now the question is, how to convert a f-body rear end into IRS.

I saw the thread where they took a C4 rear end and placed it in a F-body. It looked really cool and from the thread, it sounded like it worked great too. I was wondering if the same could be done with a GTO's rear end. Just a thought. IRS would be a good upgrade for racing. I like AutoX and roadracing.
