    rack pinion

    I started hearing this cracking sound as I reverse and turn the wheel.. so I looked under the car so I can see if anything is wrong. I noticed that the rack pinion. Is leaking oil..very little but is leaking :-(..is this a fix I must d asap..and would this ase a semi loud cracking sound as I reverse and turn..thanks..

    Check to see if you have play in your front hubs, outer tie rods and inner tie rods by jacking the car up and shaking the tire up and down, and back and forth.

    and check lower ball joint/s too in the same way..

    And radius rod bushings too...it almost sounds like you have something loose/ worn upfront that's letting the wheel move and causing it to rub....I had something like this with mine a few years back, no noise, just happened to check the play when I put new brake pads on....needless to say, I had a lot of play in different areas and ended up replacing all the front bushings with poly bushings from Energy Suspension, Pedders adjustable poly radius rod bushings and tie rod ends, one hub, and top strut bearings, and through in a set of Eibach 1.2" drop springs.....ended up costing alittle, but afterwards the car handled like a dream

    Welll I've taken it to get it aligned and they said everythin is fine..there is no play andthe bushing have been replaced also..this jut recedntly started to I'm thinking maybe the lower ball joints..I got to take it to get checked on it again..it just sounds like something just snaps when I'm turning..dosnt happen al the time either..I realy thought it would be the tie rods..but let's see wht they sa 2marrow..

    It will be the top bearing on the front strut common problem cheers.

    When I changed mine all the old bearings were all rusted and pitted bad
