Sounds like something in the door or lock mechanism is jamming. If you hear the clicking, and nothing is happening, then something is jammed. Anything bent inside the door?

Ya. I read on the other forum that the pass side lock goes BEFORE the driver side. How that is, I dunno.

Failing door actuators are pretty common. Sometimes they can be fixed by simply squirting some WD-40 down the back of the door button (assuming its the actuator rod binding on the door trim).
Otherwise you will need to replace the actuator itself. This will involve removing the door trim, plastic internal weatherproofing (make sure you reseal it when re-installing - otherwise you will get puddles of water in the cabin), and, with the window fully raised, undo & replace the actuator, linkage rods etc. Its a pretty fiddly job & best suited for someone with hands the size of a new born child........

As per GM Service Manual: GMP/04-V-2.
I compiled the different sections required to remove the door lock actuator to these 24 steps. It sounds confusing, especially without pics or illustrations but if you take your time and think it through it shouldn't be to bad to do. I have to do my passenger lock actuator this spring also.
This is the best I can do to help out.

    1. Position the window up.

    2. Remove the inside door handle bolt finish cap.

    3. Remove the screw securing the door handle to the door trim.

    4. Remove the inside door handle in a forward direction and unhook the inside handle rod from the inside door handle.

    5. Using a small flat bladed tool, remove the door locking rod knob retainer from the door locking rod.

    6. Remove the screw securing the door locking rod ferrule to the door trim panel and remove the ferrule.

    7. Remove the door trim retaining screw from the handle assembly aperture.

    8. Gently pull the front edge of the side window outlet out and remove to the rear.

    9. Remove the 7 screws securing the door trim panel assembly to the inner door panel.

10.Lift the top of the panel assembly up and out of the inner door channel.

Important: Support the front door trim panel until the wiring harness connectors are disconnected.

    11. Remove the door trim panel from the vehicle.

    12. Remove the rear veiw mirror switch.

    13. Remove the the 3 door brackets from the door inner panel by levering out the center pin of the bracket.

Important: The door water deflector only needs to be partly removed to complete this procedure.

    14. Carefully peel back the door water deflector from the inner door panel.

    15. Disconnect the door harness connector from the door lock assembly.

    16. Remove the 3 screws securing the lock assembly to the inner door panel.

    17. Disconnect the door locking rod from the door lock assembly by releasing the rod retainer and then remove the rod.

    18. Disconnect the inside handle rod from the lock assembly by releasing the rod retainer. If required, remove the rod by disengaging it from the 2 door inside handle rod clips.

    19. The outside handle rod assembly will disengage from the lock assembly, when the lock assembly is being removed.

    20. Remove the assembly through the access hole in the inner door panel.

    21. Remove the anti-theft cover from the door lock assembly.

    22. Remove the 2 screws securing the door lock actuator assembly to the lock assembly.

23.Remove the 3 retaining clips and the door lock bushing from the lock assembly.

    24. Remove the door lock actuator insulator from the actuator assembly , if required.

    Reverse for reassembly.
