Parking brake cable..
Seemed like only my right side was engaging when pulling the parking brake; I had the rear pads and rotors done (warranty) at the dealer a few months back so I went back thinking something may have been wrong with their work (worst case, free diagnosis) they didnt charge me for the diag. but it does need a left brake cable- said it was seized. $45 part, $101 for labor....not that bad but I'd like to save some $$....is this an easy maybe, half-day job in the garage? Or should I have a local shop do it??

Arctic White & Black- '98 WS6 M6 - SWAPTIME!
I don't have a GTO but am having the same issue ... it took me three weeks to find a parking cable and I actually had to order one from a dealership in Michigan to get a cable. They said they had four left in the company at the time (don't know how much I believe that) but it took a week to get and it took like an hour to install... I still have to adjust the shoes but I can try and find out where I got it from

I just had my parking brakes taken apart and redone cause one side was hanging up and then the brake decided it didn't want to release. 54k miles.
