    our wheel selection sucks

Went down to a couple of the local tire/wheel shops today and there were like 3 rims available and they all sucked, don't even remember their names or brands because they sucked so bad, they all look euro with alot of thin spokes and machined polished lips and black inserts with gold rivets, We need some better rims.

AZA Z-1's are the best looking ones IMO. You can squeez 275's on the rears with em with a little fender rolling.

well I wish the american racing muscle razor would fit and was an 18, it seems that every wheel I find that I like doesn't fit or is only offered in black, I think I'm actually going to have my stock 18s powder coated a light metallic grey or have them chromed not sure yet.

    Soft Rims

THE STOCK EXPORT RIMS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE BETTER LOOKING 18" TYPE.
DID ALL G.T.Os ARRIVE WITH 17" ONES? (BIT SOFT)

    IN AUS, 03MY MONARO-GTOs ONLY HAD 18"+

If I was u!! Id wait & USE THE NEW PONTIAC G8 ALLOYS, whatever U.S.A GET!
Center boreing hub-sizemod & careful wheel nut clamp angle must be addressed.
Hope its the 20" ones they SEND U.

I have included some pictures of 20" VE HSV, & 19" VY GTS AU$1200 on ebaybro

i say just get pedders 1.5" lift...and very stiff so u can put wider wheels on, but no have to pay for the fender rolling

Our Bolt pattern is "NOT" 5 on 4 3/4" like the Camaros and Vettes are ! The offset is European (there is a .65mm difference). The GTO hub has a 5x120.00mm bolt circle diameter. The offset is 48 mm for both 17-inch and 18-inch wheels. The GTO wheels have 8.0 inch wide rims.......There is a slight difference, GM wheels will slide on, Is it correct ? NO. Do people do it ? YES. ( the main problem is not the bolt pattern, Its the centering ring or hub center) Is it safe ? You decide if you want a wrong bolt pattern wheel on your expensive GTO. I run OZRacing (120mm) !
    Just my Opinions...........
Here are the TIRE sizes that DO fit,
    .........17's
    ..............Front:

245/45/17 is still the best fit
255/40/17 fit but had to use a 8.5" wide wheel, the required backspacing hadthe wheels/tire sticking out too from the body line
275/40/17 didn't fit, using a 9" wide wheel, the tire was rubbibg the strut. Again using a different backspacing would have the set sticking out too far

    .............Rear:

275/40/17 fit no problems on a 17x9" wheel These stick out just a little more than the factory tires, but I think they still look great!

Recommendation for 17" wheels: Use your factory tires and and put them on 17x8" custom wheels or 17x8" wheel front w/ 245/45/17 tires and 17x9" wheel rear w/ 275/40/17 tires

    ..........18's
    ................Front:

    18x8 w/ a 245/45/18 tire - fit is perfect
    18x8.5 w/ 255/40/18 - again sticks out too far

    ................Rear:

    18x9 w/ a 275/35/18 tire - fit is perfect

GLAD YOU DID RESEARCH BUT PEOPLE ARE DRAG RACING WITH THE 5x4.75 PATTERN ALL DAY LONG AND ALSO RUNNING 9s. YOU JUST HAVE TO GET THE RIGHT OFFSET. AND THE OFFSET IS THE KEY SO YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THAT. THATS JUST MY OPINION.

I HAVE THE 5.5 BACK SPACING WITH 275/50/15 MT ET STREETS BUT HAD TO USE DRAG BAGS AND ROLL FENDERS. THAT SPACING IS THE BIGGEST WELD RACING HAS ON THE 8 INCH WIDE RIM.
