I'm installing an LSx/4L60E in my '80 Grand Am G-body, I plan to paint it the Pontiac Blue that came in the original,I think it would be cool.

My Dad's first new car was a 65 tri power GTO...$33xx sticker price

I don't think the blue goes with the car. Why make it what its not? Me, personally, like the aluminum or black for the iron block.

But if you do, then everything should be blue like the original including the intake.

I think the metallic blue would look good, especially in a black car. You going to paint the intake also?

There were at least 3 different colors used over the years before they went to black, a few '81 Pontiac engines(265/301) were painted black. Before that was that green/blue, silver/blue and later in the 1970's, early 1980's got the solid blue that's on my '80 engine. There should be a shade that works with your engine/car combo. You don't have to paint the intake, the Ram Air IV had an aluminum intake!

I think I'm going black on the block and the heads....leaving the LSX Fast intake alone....
I'm working on the Year One thing with Mama right now.....I'd really like to go...but my ability to control my schedule is difficult at the very least....
