Open you trunk and lookk at the liner directly in front of you... it has like 6 little plastic clips. Pull them off and behind it you will see the gas tank and the big ol black brace in front of it. Take it out. 4 bolts hold it on the car. THat weighs a good 30 lbs by itself.
Then crawl underneath the trunk and remove the plastic cover down there. It's held on my clips and two bolts. There is a black V shaped brace under there. Remove it. I havent took mine off yet, but i do have the plastic hanging down ready for it.

the amp is in the trunk behind the black liner on the drivers side. You'll see it mounted. Reach your hand around there and twist the knob. Have the radio on so you can hear the difference in bass so you know you're turning it the right way.

Ok, I took the big V-brace off. Im kinda wondering if this really is a towing brace? it looks like it's basically for structural support for the trunk in case of rear end collision.. as with the fuel tank brace. Either way it's off, the fuel tank brace is off, and the skid plate is off. So thats a good 70 lbs right?

Oh Jax, maybe the previous owner wanted to lighten the car up by removing parts of the stereo system he deemed unneccessary. lol
