Neck for the filler cap (oil)

I'm installing a breather filter and I've yanked and twisted to point my back has turned me into pretzel...

What is the trick to get the thing out???

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

leave the neck on and just take the cap off and replace with the breather.

Thanks Sarge - i'll work on improving on my cuss'in...maybe that will help
My basement flooded so I'm ripping carpeting out today...
I'll take a break and give it a shot.

Gave it the once over, but didn't have any luck...

I have the catch can ready to go, but I'm not installing that until I get that dam neck out.
I'm not as young as I use to be...can't reload as fast as I could back in the day and my back is killing me from humping carpet and padding out of the basement all day.

    The concept of leverage!

    de dedeeee...

Finally got both the breather and the catch installed yesterday.

The increased pedal response was impressive to say the least...
    Thanks Sarge

You eliminated back pressure=quicker rev=quicker power band achievement. All good. Good job SilverGoat! And all this performance improvement and no oil in your intake to boot. I don't know why kids don't do this as one of their first mods frankly.

Sarge - quick question: Lead was a component of fuel back in the day and a part of it's function was to lubricate the values, if I recall...

Has something been added as a subsitute to fuel or is the oil laddened air I just eliminated supposed to replace the lead?

    Hope my question makes sense...

The first mods to my car were the catch can and breather. My question is for you Sarge, I read your thread on this subject and saw you had put a breather on the other valve cover (left side). I put one on mine and was wondering if its a little overkill? The only other mods I have are CAI and predator tune.

Yes the manufacturers ( Mr. Big Bucks ) did put in a small drop of lube....this is why I run either Lucas UCL or FPPlus. I do it in all my cars religiously. Better power and performance....and no fuel pumps going out or dirty injectors for me Been using these products for a long time. Simple to do....
