Muffler ?

Ok heres the deal I just got a 04 gto last saturday and Im wanting to get a set of mufflers instead of buying a aftermarket exhuast. Plus I'm going to order some long tubes in the next week also, so mufflers would you choose?

It's kinda hard to just weld mufflers in on the stock setup, due to the way its setup. There are a few mufflers, magnaflow makes one. Im sure a good muffler shop can make something work though. I would go ahead and spend the money on long tubes and mids. Pacesetter makes coated headers and catless mids for like $600 shipped. Thatll make the car louder and more powerful.

ARH headers make the Most power That I have seen on any GTO also we run magnaflows in our gto...

Anyone have a part number for the magnaflows. I was looking at spintech but didn't know if they would work on my 04.

05 and 04 are Not the same and we run 3 inch....Frank

I've been reading that people with 05 an 06 gtos putting mufflers in the 04 location. So why couldn't you put those spintechs on my 04?

an 04 gto exhaust system will NOT fit or will the Mufflers on a 05 06. you cant bend the pipes to fit the mount points wont work its wrong info you were reading.....Frank

Well after looking around I called spintech and ordered the pro street mufflers should sound sweet with those LT.

Thanks, I just ordered some kooks LTs and just the mufflers from spintech. If I get the magnaflow X pipe will that help any?

yes, the x-pipe will help scavange the exhaust better, basically it evens out the pulses and makes the air flow faster. Some people would say it also creates a raspy exhaust tone though.

Ok I'll look it up on youtube. Thanks guys can't wait to get it all on I need to find a mail order tuner since I dont think theres anyone that can dyno tune it around here.

Search the web or GMHighTech Performance magazine or GMHTP.com. I found the shop that dynoed/tuned my car by reading the magazine. Can't hurt.
