    More Meat in the Rear...

Anybody mange to put a wider tire on their Goat? Question is actually for my dad who is technologically illiterate, so here I am. He has an 06 Cyclone Grey Goat with the stock 17s.

I have heard of folks putting 265/275 40ZR17's on the rear without rubbing the rear quarters.

okay.... I just checked him out. His sig on LS1GTO says 17x9, so he has either widened his or he is running a not stock rim.

OK. He did widen them. Whoops on my part. But I coulda sworn he was running stock wheels that weren't widened. I'm getting old.

That's right. I remember now. His car looks beastly!!! But haven't there been others who put 275s on the factory rims?

I think people have made claims... just haven't backed them up. I don't think you can fit these tires with out having the proper rim size. I want 315's on the back of my T/A and some guy told me I could fit them on the stock 9" rims. It ain't happening, so Now I'm looking at getting a set widened

how long has his rims been widened? Are they holding up well and where did he get it done? I may get my T/A rims widened to 11", so my dad doesn't feel iffy on getting his Goats rims widened.

I've been skeptical and so has he, but I've been told if done right its just as strong as anything.
